Devon's Take

The Chiron is the fulfillment of every Bugatti poster I had on my wall as a kid. A W16 monument. Quad-turbo brutalism dressed in French tailoring. But the Jesko is what happens when a small Swedish company refuses to accept that displacement is destiny — twin-turbo flat-plane V8, 1,600 hp on E85, 1,200 lbs lighter, and a top speed Bugatti hasn't matched. The Chiron is what billionaires buy. The Jesko is what engineers obsess over. I respect the Chiron. I covet the Jesko.

The Verdict

Four Categories

01

Track

Winner

Koenigsegg Jesko

1,267 lbs lighter, mid-engine flat-plane V8, and a chassis built around the corner — not the straight. The Chiron is brilliant on a runway. The Jesko is brilliant everywhere else.

02

Drag

Winner

Koenigsegg Jesko

121 more horsepower, 1,267 lbs less to drag down the strip. Past 100 mph the Chiron's W16 surge becomes the Jesko's sustained punishment.

03

Daily

Winner

Bugatti Chiron

Service network in 30+ countries, soundproofed cabin, and a ride quality engineered for state visits. The Jesko was built for the limit, not the school run.

04

Status

Winner

Bugatti Chiron

The W16 is a monument to engineering excess that will never be built again. Bugatti carries 110 years of name. Koenigsegg builds better cars; Bugatti builds icons.
